The ListHost.net story really starts with a technical problem faced by one exceptionally successful email publisher - Sling Shot Media's President and CEO, Sharon Tucci.

Sharon, as head of the Canadian publishing and consulting  firm, Ergodynamix, was publishing several email newsletters. One of these, called "All About Money", already had 7,000  subscribers when the first issue was distributed in 1997, and  within a year that number had grown to more than 65,000.

At the same time, she started to help others launch their own email newsletters and to promote them. All this hands-on experience was the ideal preparation for Sharon Tucci's highly acclaimed e-book "All About Lists".

Since, at that time, there was no affordable hosting solution to handle as list the size of "All About Money", the list had to be split between several providers, adding up to prohibitive delivery costs and often causing havoc. It was not surprising that Sharon Tucci and her business partner, Susan Mathiesen  - now Sling Shot Media's Executive Vice President - decided to  install their own server.

The next step was a logical and inevitable one. They decided  to use their equipment to offer list hosting and auxiliary  services to others. Never again would email publishers lack delivery solutions tailored to their own budgetary constraints and personal needs.
